I feel so drained and tired because I havent truly got any rest in the past couple of days, but I have Monday to rest and thats what I am going to do. All I have done today is I went to work and then came home to take a nap so I can stay up to wish everyone a Happy New Year. But for now Happy New Years Eve everyone. See you all in 2012.

Today was a very cool day especially for it to be a B-day. Even though I was tired throughout the day I still was able to get my work completed and turned in. It was just so hard for me to keep myself up and I actually did fall asleep in second period. The best part about that was we watched a movie so I really didn't miss anything at all. i just really need to go to sleep ASAP.

I had a good day today, it was actually relaxing and a chills day. Like I always say I really dont have a highlight to my day honestly. I did get my acceptance letter to Clark Atlanta in a big packet thats says "welcome" on it. Doing big things :)

Today in AVID we preformed a task where we had to take our quest folders off the wall and we had to show how many completed applications we had or acceptances we have in our folder. Then we had to right our names down according to how many we had the key is to have at least 5 completed applications/ acceptances and If you had all five your name goes in only once. If you four your name goes in twice, If you have three it goes in three times, for two its four, one is five times. But if you didn't have any your name goes in six times which gives you a bigger risk of getting called in the future. A scholar would get their name called out of the basket of names, one boy and one girl, and then Doña checks your blog to see if you are doing what is asked of you. If you have a good and updated blog then you will gain points for your house. If your blog is not updated then you will have a bad blog grade and you will lose points for your house. This Idea came from the book/movie "The Hunger Games" which we are getting assigned to read in 2012. I want to see where this idea takes the AVID family, I am anxious to see results.

Today I had to work 8 long hours at work with only a 30 min break and all day it was busy. I felt so drained when I got of and all I wanted to do was lay down but I really dont know how to take naps so I really didnt go to sleep when I got home. Instead I went to go play football outside for a good 2 1/2 hours. Then I came in the house and went to sleep.

Today was the longest and most boring Friday that I have had in a long time. I truely did not do anything except for go to school and then come home and layed around and played with my dog. I have nothing to really talk about except for the fact that I was bored out of my mind all friday.

Today was a long day but good thing it was a Thursday, one day until the weekend. I really didn't do anything exciting today, today in art class I started working on a epic drawing that displays a huge moment on event. My event is Kevin Durant dunking on Brendan Haywood during the 2011 playoffs. I will post a photo of the finished product at a later date so I can show off my tremendous art masterpiece.

I was at work tdy from 7-2 and I was running on less than 6 hours of sleep. My body feels so drained and tired and I have been laying around the house since 2. I also completed an application to North Carolina Central earlier today, but besides that I have nothing really important to blog about regarding to my day.

My day was very long today, I took my SAT today for the second time today and I believe I did a pretty good job. I used all of the tips that Doña taught us such as "less is more". Then right after my SAT I had to go to work from 3-10 and I was so tired I could barely function. I couldnt count the money or anything because of how tired and drained I was throughout the day. I am anxious to see my scores and see how I did

Today was my fourth food rag with my AVID family and it is the last I will share with them because we are all about to go our separate ways. It was nice to hear all of the stories that they had to share and the food they had brought in was very well prepared. I had an excellent time with my Avid family and I am glad that they are my AVID family

Its Turkey day and I honestly want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I had alot of fun today hanging out with my family and having a wonderful time eating food with all of my family members. I started my thanksgiving at my grandmothers house and I ended it at my great aunts house. This gave me a chance to have Thanksgiving with both sides of my family. Throughout the night I only had 2 plates because I really wasnt that Hungry at all when it was time to eat a meal. But besides that I love my family with all my heart. Once again happy Thanksgivig everybody :).

Today is Black Friday and I went shopping with a friend and his parents to Tyson's Corner in Virginia. That mall had every store you could think of inside of it and it was so big that it had two different parts to it. We arrived at the mall at 7:30 and didnt leave till about 1:30-2:00. I really didnt get alot of stuff just some shoes, a shirt, pants, and a jacket. But I am glad that I had an opportunity to go to the mall.

Mad that I had to wake up a 6 today because I had to be to work by 730 and on top of that I had to work till 3. It feels good to have a job but its just tiring standing up for 7 hours every saturday and sunday. I wish I knew how to take naps because I would be knocked out sleep after I got off

I had to wake up at 6 again this morning because I had to be to work by 7. Today at work they had me doing the register, the deli, and stocking. So basically I was running around the store like a chicken with my head cut off. But Im going to be happy when I see my pay check though and they are telling me that I am doing an excellent job at work. :)

Today was an arduous day with alot of work and other big things that I have to complete. Including a project for Ap Human Geo and vocab for Psych I gotta get to it and get it completed before the due date. But todays was very dull and not one of my most exciting days

Today was my forth day at my job at Wawa and I am starting to enjoy my first job. I came in for register training and I ended up working my own register. I was actually nervous when I was doing because I was not used to the upbeat atmosphere and I did not want to mess up, especially at the register of all places. The customers were flowing and it was like they didn't stop coming. Most of the customers knew that I was new because my co-workers have been in the store for awhile. Everybody had advice and tips for me and they had extreme patients for me while I got use to handling the register. I hope they keep me on the register for good because it was a good experience.

Today was another long and tiring day at Newtown. It seem like time was going so slow today, but the best part about today is that it is Thursday which means one day before Friday. I cant wait till the weekend and I hope I can get something planned for the weekend. But my day wasn't really exciting and nothing truly happened.

Today was tiring but it was a good day. Nothing to exciting went on during my day and nothing truly went on for me to be to happy about. I took a lot of notes and learned some new stuff today in College Algebra and Psychology. That was basically the most exciting thing that happened all day.

Today in AVID we watched another video from ET the Hip-Hop Preacher and the video was entitled "TGIM: Thank God It's Monday." ET had three points that he brought to us which were view work as a blessing and view it in a positive way, Throw away your Toys R' Us kids card and grow up, and be the change and stop looking for change. These points are truely valid and vital information for everyone to love by because if these things are followed they could be a substantial blessing in a persons life. I encourage everyone to watch his videos because he has some wonderful information to give to everyone on bad days.

Well,well,well today was Newtown Pride Day and also the day of the Pep Rally. It was a fun and entertaining with all of the school spirit that we were showing as a school. The Pep Rally was live and full of spirit and it showed the Class of 2012 is the best class ever to come out of Newtown. I am glad to be apart of the graduating class of 2012. Below is me holding my sign that I made for the other classes and I meant it.

Today was very fun and amusing alot happened today....including the Powder Puff Game. I must say that was the most amusing and wild game that I have seen thus far in my years at Newtown. The girls were takling, arguing, and even fighting. A fight actually broke out on the field in the fourth quater. Mr. Carney was in the midst of things and didnt know what to do when they started fighting. He just sat back and let the girls break themselves up (good move Mr.Carney.)

So Today I spent my day shopping with my mom, I wanted to get a couple of new things because I was in need of somethings.  After we went shopping we went out to eat at Moe's seafood in Glen Burnie.  I really don't have anything to talk about on this day.  But I had a wonderful day :)

Well everyone knows that today is Halloween, but to bad I don't celebrate it though but my little sisters love to dress up and join in the festivities of wearing costumes and trick or treating. Above is my 4 year old sister Makayla and she told me that she is a witch for Halloween.  She had a costume on at her daycare because they were asked to were them.  She had on her garish skirt and stockings with her little shoes, but where is the hat?  She did not have a hat on with her costume so I guess this is a new version of a witch that she came up with.  I had her to strike poses for her picture and I'm guessing this is her favorite pose because she does this same pose for every picture. Every time we say "Makayla Strike a pose" this is always her first resort and she will do it every other pose. You gotta love her though :)

Today was longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg and tiring.  I really did not do anything I had a test in first period, a project in second period, college research in third, and a project in fourth period.  Today was really tedious and lethargic because of the work that had to be completed today, nothing was interesting and nothing really caught my eye.  Now I'm waiting for my new phone to come in so I can get rid of this old broken phone that I have now.  This week has went by fast and I am ready for the weekend.

I had a good day today it was nice and informative, I learned alot today throughout my day in classes such as Human Geography, College Algebra, and Psychology.  I was tired and sluggish fior the most part but other than that My day was productive.  I really don't have nothing to write about today, I wish I did though.

Even though it was rainy and gloomy outside, I still had a good day.  Today was Breast Cancer Awareness day and I had on my "Support the Tatas" shirt to show that I support Breast Cancer awareness.  I don't have anybody in my family with breast cancer but I do have somebody close to me who has it so I am supporting Awareness for her.  My day was good and effective netherless of the weather and the gloominess

Today in AVID we watched a video of "ET the Hip-Hop Preacher" and it was called "Thank God Its Tuesday".  The video was supposed to be an inspirational video about how to get your Tuesday or your whole week align to make your life better and more successful.  "ET" had some valid statements that everyone should take into consideration they were Take Responsibility, Great people don't make excuses they make-up, Don't give up and Don't Quit, and lastly Without Struggle there's no progress.  It was weird because when he was saying these statements it felt like it was directed straight to me and it was like he was telling me to do these steps personally.  As a student, son, and a person I need to follow through with these steps throughout the rest of my life.  What I am going to do is Type these steps and post them up on the wall in my room so I can wake up every morning and know that I can make it through by following these steps and know that I can make my life better with these.  I am thankful that Dona showed us this video because I think it have effected me tremdously.

Today was long and tiring day, I just wanted to go home and lay down but i had work to accomplish.  When it comes to the work today was a breeze through except College Aalgebra.  We are learning something new and I have no clue what we are doing because it is a bunch of formulas and multi step equations that we had in Algebra 1 and 2 and I cant remember those classes because I took those in 8th and 9th grade.  We took notes so I'm guessing I could go off of that but it is just weird to pull up those archaic memories like that and expect all of us to remember them of the top of our heads.  So im glad we have coach class avaliable to us when we need it because thats where I'm heading.

I had a cool day today, nothing to exciting happened I woke up early and went out with my mother and that was about it really we went out Westminster mad we went to Friendly's.  For the most part it was a slow paced day nothing truly did happen for me to talk about. I did play 2k12 for the most of my evening that is exciting right??

I had a wonderful day today minus the fact that I only got 4 hours of sleep.  I woke up early for church today because today was my Cousin's Son's Christening service and we had to go to support him at the alter because we are his family and we have to show that we are there for him and his parents. But while we was at the alter he was really rowdy and crying because he had to much clothes on and he was hot and bothered but as soon as the preacher touched him he stopped.  The preacher said he had "the magic baby touch" ( lol ), but after the christening we went to my cousins house for dinner and desert and we sat back and watched the games until everyone was ready to go.  As a family we are blessed to welcome Cam Isaiah Carrington-Wright to the family.

I had a good and light day today in school,  My classes were fun and entertaining today because I learned new and interesting things that were amusing to me today.  Today I am going to go to the movies and to dinner with my mom becasue we both want to go see the new Kevin Hart movie that everybody has been buzzing about so we are going to go see it to see how good it is really.  Besides that my day is pretty dull.

Today is my day off and I have been on the computer all day looking at colleges and i even applied to Saint John's university in Queens New York. I have been trying to mess with my PlayStation all day because I took it to a place called Gadget Guru to get it fixed and it got worse so I'm going to take it back to them and they are going to have to fix it but this is my third time going over there this week and it is getting really annoying that I spend 100 to get it fixed and its still not fixed.  But minus that I had a doctors appointment and did some more of my homework, not a very exciting day but something to write about.

I had a long day today and I had a lot of work to do during this day It was as if all my classes had a new unit to teach and it was a hectic day to learn new things in every class in one day but I can handle it because I am going to push myself to do my work and get my grades up.  I had to do a lot of Homework also I have to do 60 note cards, College Algebra Homework, and Human Geo Homework.  It just a lot of work to do I was up till 11 doing homework last night but man I am glad that we don't have school tomorrow I get to sleep in.

Today I woke up early this morning and went to Crakerbarrel restaurant with my father and we had some of the best breakfast food that I have ever tasted in my life.  They have some of the most delicious pancakes that I have had in my life and there menu of foods is to die for.  Once we got finished from there I came home and completed my chores and then wnet outside for pick-up games of football and basketball with some kids around the neighborhood.  I eneded up bruising my arm to the point where it looks like another arm is growing out of my forearm but I know it would heal.  My day was kind of dull today but none the less I had a great day.

I had very good and productive day today,  I completed all my assignments and I stayed to myself today because I didnt feel like being bothered really by anyone.  I was tired throughout the day and I feel drained like I need to just get in the bed and go to sleep.  Today in AVID I completed my random act of kindness by helping Dona with her Wall of PSAT words from A to Z.  I helped Lamenate the words that the Avid 10 and or 11 put together and then we cut them out and posted them on the window in front of the library.  It should be helpful to those who are taking the PSAT on Wednesday. But one act of kindness isnt enough and I am planing on making Acts of kindness a habit.

I had a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong day today.  School today felt like it lasted for a year and it was rigorous  today in College Algebra and AP Psych.  I had two tests in those classes and they had to be  two of the hardest tests I have ever taken in my life.  I even studied and I still was lost during the tests I swear I  need a tutor for both of those classes.  When I came home I went outside and played a pick-up game of football with my friends.

Today is my mothers Birthday and I am more excited than she is for her own birthday.  She views a birthday as just another day in the world and it is nothing to really be celebrated.  But me on the other hand view it to be a day were you celebrate like there is no tomorrow, but hey thats just me.  She didnt want a celebration or people to give her anything, she just wanted to go along with her normal scheduled day.  We eneded up going out any way to Loafers because thats where she wanted to go for her little dinner and we had a good time.  Once again Happy Birthday Mom Dukes!!!

I spent most of my day over my friend's house for his birthday weekend and then I spent the rest of my day with my mother.  We went to Towson mall to get out of the house and then we went to dinner with one of her friends at The Cheeesecake Factory.  The food was excellent and I love the restaurant because of the vibe that it gives off while eating.  We later came home and worked on job applications because i am in desperate need of a job and some extra money.  I put in 3 applications to DTLR, Wawa, and mars and I am anxiously waiting to receive a phone call for an interview soon. Wish me Luck :)

I did not come to school today because I had my first migraine in a while and I could not get rid of my headache.  I took Ibuprofen, Advil , and Tylenol  and I could not get rid of my headache but some rest got rid of the headache finally and i felt relieved. I also was able to send in my interim grades to Dona and Mr. Carney.  I also noticed that the House of Themis is in last after being in first -_____-.  We need to pick it up Themis!!!

So my mother wanted me to try something new because she says that I need to broaden my horizons when it comes to food.  So she took me to RA sushi restaurant. The restaurant gave off a benevolent vibe and showed a small look at the culture from Japan.  The menu was different with Funky names for the food and different flavors for it such as Las Vegas Rolls and California Rolls.  I still didnt try anything differnet and stuck to something I know I would like Chicken *lol. 

My mother had Crabs today from Blue Point Crab house today and she got a dozen and a half crabs for 36 dollars. I didnt touch any off the crabs because I am not a fan of them. I do not like the smell nor the taste and everytime I eat them I get my hands and fingers sliced.  I try my best to stay away from them.

I had an all around good day today, it was a very appealing and entertaining day. I had a lot of fun with my friends today because everyone was just funny to me today for some odd reason but besides that we had our second Socratic Seminar within our AVID houses on "A Hope in the Unseen".  I believe our house did a wonderful job on digging deeper into the text and fully analyzing every word and taking Cedric's events and using them to show how we would react to these situations.  I wish I could show the link to the video which is on the AVID wiki but it is currently not up on the site.

Today I spent my day at Route 40 Paintball for my friend Kamari's birthday. It was a very fun experience and I would refer it to anyone.  The only bad part about it was that the gun was jamming and that the face masks were not to  effective because of the eye protectors that continuously kept getting fogged up and smeared from all the paint.  Everybody makes paint-balling to seem as though it is worst then what it is but it doesn't hurt as much as people make it out to be.  The only thing that hurts is when the paintball does not explode on impact with your body.  I got shot in my hands, legs, and back and the only true lasting injury is a swollen pinky but besides all of that it was a joyous event.

I completed all my homework and then I decided to relax because the next day is A day off that we all needed.  So I decided to sit back and relax and watch some tv and lay down and eat a snack.  Then I wanted to go outside but it was raining on and off all day.  So I decided to sit in the house and get on the computer and watch tv until I received a phone call from somebody important or an important text.  Never got it but its ok ill see whats going to happen tomorrow

Yesterday was my day off and I kept saying to my self I was going to sleep in because it  was a well needed rest  but come to find out my body woke itself up at 8 o'clock.  I decided to o downstairs and eat breakfast and then I decided to get on the computer and check my Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and there was nobody on those websites.  It felt like I was the only person alive at that time and I was just waiting until I got an indication that somebody was up.  I then received a phone call and I talk on the phone for hours because I was up walking around with no activity to do except get on the computer or watch tv but there was nothing to watch.  Later on in the evening I cut the grass and I rounded up all of my friends and we played a big game of pick up football until it got dark outside until the sun went down.

Today was the Day of the 6th Annual AVID Induction Ceremony and it was one of the best turnouts that I have witnessed throughout my previous three Ceremonies.  It was incredible to Witness all of the new AVID members and the parents in the auditorium supporting the AVID program.  It is truly inspiring to know that Newtown AVID program is growing bigger and stronger as the years grow on and I hope that come time the AVID senior farewell comes around I hope it is a crowd like the Induction Ceremony because I know that AAvid is growing.

Yesterday I joined my AVID family members at Noodles and Co. and it was a fun event and I seen members of my house and members of other houses also.  I came to make sure I got some points for The House of Themis (Since we are in 3rd place now) :( . But this was my first time that I had noodles and company and it was a delicious experience and I would refer there food to others and the customer service was wonderful

           I have tried for to get employment at Finish Line for the past several months.  Every time I call to check on my application the manager is never in the store,  just my luck huh??  Well I am not going to give up on this job because I have always wanted my first job to be in a shoe store and hopefully this is my opportunity to get my dream job.  I called the store today and they told me to call back tomorrow, so im going to call back tomorrow after school and hopefully they will tell me that I can come in for an interview some time soon :)

When I was sitting at my door the other day this had to be one of the most unreal images that I have ever seen in my life.  A squirrel was actually sitting on the banister of my porch eating what looked like a form of Styrofoam.  It was gnawing and chewing away at a big chunk of it and its little jaws had to be moving at over 20 mph and it took a bite out of the Styrofoam every 2-3 seconds it was an unreal sight.  The way it was looking at me out of the corner of its eye made it seem as though it was going to try and come to attack me but luckily I was taking the picture through glass  LOL

Today I came home and say a good ole quick meal of McDonald's, Two McDoubles and a Medium Fry.  Even though its not all that good for the body,but its just soooo addictive.  Even though sometimes it can make my stomach hurt but its ok.

Walgreen's

Really Walgreen's?????  Its only the first couple of weeks in September and they are already trying to convince people to buy Halloween merchandise.  They have ghost figures hanging up around the store, fake spiders and spider webs on shelves, and Halloween Disney Characters such as a Mickey Mouse pumpkin.  Well I'm probably complaining because of the fact that I do not care to much about Halloween but I just find it a little extreme that they are preparing for it so early.

Once I came home from school, completed my homework, went outside and thought that is was I wonderful day to pick up a basketball and go out and play.  I played for hours because it is an activity that I enjoy do watching and playing.  I could do anything that involves basketball really because it is something that is intriguing to me.

Saturday 9-10-11

I spent my day with my mother today and we visited Pikes restaurant which is located in the Pikesville area. They was a movie theater that was converted into a restaurant.  Inside they have Statues of characters from the 70's and the 80's such as Elvis, The Blues Bros., Betty Boop, and others.  The food is delicious and I recommend it to everyone to try it. :)

Jordan Quick has been a student in New Town High School since the ninth grade and has been a member New Town High School's A.V.I.D program since the ninth grade.  Jordan is an arduous student that always knows he can do better if he puts in the effort to work harder.  Jordan never backs down from any challenge that is thrown and him and he feels as though he needs to be a paradigm to his friends and others who follow him.  He is determined to make is parents proud in everything that he does and he made a promise that he will never let them down because they have high hopes for him.  Jordan is looking forward to applying to and getting accepted into the following colleges Hampton University, North Carolina Central, and Clark-Atlanta.

Makayla!!

Yesterday, September 6,2011 was my little sister Makayla's 4th Birthday. She came home with her "Happy Birthday" Tiara and a big smile on her face that would brighten up a room.  Every sentence that came out her mouth included something about her birthday. For instance, she would say "Daddy can I have some candy, because it's my birthday" or "Jordan guess what its my birthday". Makayla is adopted and it is first Birthday that I have spent with her since she was adopted into the family. I am proud to be her big brother and I love her dearly.

LABOR DAY!!

I spend my labor day at Redzone Adventures in  Timonium, Maryland.  They have plenty of joyous activities such as  Laser Tag, Mini Golf, A Laser Maze Competition, and a copious amount of arcade games. This picture above is the 9th hole of the Mini Golf and it is a neon glow in the dark experience that will have you guessing what you are going to encounter in the next hole. On this hole you had to putt your golf ball up onto a declining slope and manage to get the ball in hole which was in the center of the slope. It got to difficult so I gave up soner or later and just dropped my ball into the hole since it was the last hole anyway
